WALTHAM — American Financial Systems has moved to bigger digs in the Hobbs Brook Office Park, signing a three-year lease for a 6,001 square-foot space at 610 Lincoln St.
The firm, which provides software and Internet tools for supplemental benefit plans, moved from its 4,000-square-foot location at 275 Wyman St., which was also a part of Hobbs Brook Office Park, said Jennifer Shelby, spokeswoman for Hobbs Brook Management LLC.
The three-story building with a steel structure and brick exterior on Lincoln Street was built in 2001 and has 105,000 square feet altogether. Building-mates are companies such as Xerox, InnoCentive and Harvest Power, Shelby said. InnoCentive just moved into the Lincoln Street space on July 1.
"Having occupied a Hobbs Brook building in the past," Daniel Johnson, president and CEO of American Financial Systems, said in a press release, "we were already accustomed to their pleasant and accommodating manner."
Hobbs Brook recently completed two new office buildings at 175 and 185 Wyman St. in March totaling 335,000 square feet. The buildings earned a Gold score, or a perfect mark, from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design in May.
"There has been a lot of interest and a lot of activity" regarding the new buildings, Shelby said, but no lease agreements have been made yet.
Handling the lease was Robert Borgman of Wyman Street Advisors, for Hobbs Brook, and Jason Rhuda of MOHR Partners, Inc. for American Financial Systems, according to the press release.
The former tenant for the leased space was Herbst LaZar Bell, Inc., an industrial design firm, Shelby said, which left June 19.
"After looking at nearly 25 different properties with our buy-side broker, we came back around to 610 Lincoln St. and Hobbs Brook Management, and we are very happy with our decision," Johnson said.
